Join the Committee

Runnymede Access Liaison Group (RALG) seeks to improve the lives of people with disabilities by making the Council and other responsible bodies aware of safety concerns and/or when access needs to be improved and then working with them to achieve improvement.

We are encouraging new members to fulfil the intention of having all areas in the Borough represented on our management committee by someone with a disability and/or disability interests.

Being on the Committee isn't onerous with members usually asked only to help raise awareness of the problems faced by people with disabilities by bringing to the Committee details of places which are unsafe or where access is difficult.  There is also the opportunity to go with others to check these areas and/or new developments to help ensure they will be disability-friendly.  We have recently been invited to attend a workshop to explore and discuss the landscape, open space and natural habitat design of the River Thames Scheme.

Committee Meetings are every three months in January, April, July and October and are held by Zoom which makes attendance much easier for participants with a disability.
