Welcome to Runnymede Access Liaison Group

Runnymede Access Liaison Group (RALG) was originally set up in 1991 as an advisory body to Runnymede Borough Council to suggest how the needs of people with disabilities might be best met within the Borough. Now an independent group, but still maintaining strong links with the Borough Council, we provide a representative “voice” for residents with all forms of physical or hidden disabilities. Please press 'Email RALG' on the site menu if you would like to get in touch to raise an issue.

Our Mission

We support residents with disabilities in Runnymede through Assessments, Awards, Awareness and Advocacy

RALG conducts accessibility assessments of public amenities, paths, pavements and road crossings. We provide recommendations to relevant stakeholders to help ensure these spaces are safe and inclusive for people with disabilities.

RALG recognises local residents with disabilities who have made significant achievements despite barriers, as well as carers and organisations who support people with disabilities. We celebrate them by hosting Achievement Awards evenings.

RALG promotes and contributes towards local activities and services that are relevant to people with disabilities. This includes publishing Accessible Trail routes for open spaces within the Borough on our website, and maintaining links with the Surrey Coalition for Disabled People.

RALG Committee Members monitor local matters of concern that could affect residents with disabilities. We maintain an email address for residents to report concerns and this is also used to signpost people to relevant support services.
