Homewood Park Dementia Trail, Chertsey

Runnymede Borough Council and their partners in the Runnymede Dementia Action Alliance launched a leaflet for a mini walk or meet up for picnic and nature trail for residents with Alzheimer’s and their friends and family. This was done as part of World Alzheimer's Month in September 2021. The route was assessed at the time by a former committee member of Runnymede Access Liaison Group. The short walk through pleasant calming woodland is on fairly firm ground, so can be easily accessed by manual and electric wheelchairs, as well as mobility scooters, although not advisable after heavy rain.  There is a picnic area and some benches for you to stop, enjoy your surroundings and just listen to nature.  Homewood Park has 3 hours free parking which makes it easy for people to meet up safely, get some exercise and fresh air, socialise and improve their mental well-being.

The Dingle, St Ann's Hill, Chertsey

The small car park for The Dingle is accessed off St Ann’s Hill Road past the first car park (which takes walkers up to the top of St Ann’s Hill and the viewpoint towards Gatwick).  It is on the right-hand side of the road with a yellow height restriction barrier.  This car park has two disabled car parking bays as pictured below. The start of the tree trail begins at the car park.
